With a wave of your hand and the clenching of your first, you conjure a watery trident and shield in both of your hands.

You are considered proficient with the trident and shield created by this spell, and they last for the duration.

If you are not holding the trident or shield at the end of a turn, it bursts into a pile of water, but you can conjure either the trident or the shield as a bonus action (only one at a time).

While wielding the shield, you gain Resistance to FIRE and WATER damage.

You can use your action to make two melee spell attacks with the trident. On a hit, the target takes WATER damage equal to 3d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier.

You can also use your action to make a ranged spell attack as you throw the trident (range 6m/20m). On hit, the target takes WATER damage equal to 3d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Whether it hits or misses, all creatures within 4m of the target must make a

Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d8 damage on a failed save, or half damage on a successful save.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 and the AC bonus of the shield increases by +1 for every two slot levels above 4th.
